Become a Member

While you have been a probie and running duties as a “third person” on the duty crews, you have also been going through our membership process. It works like this:

  1. Submit your application
  2. You will then be contacted by the First Lieutenant to be interviewed and begin your probationary member process.
  3. Run a minimum of two shifts per month, attend monthly Business and Training meetings, and strengthen relationships as a probationary member for a minimum of three months.
  4. Be voted into the Washington County Life Saving Crew as a member and practice as AIC.

By the end of your probationary membership, you are required to provide an EMT-Basic certification at a minimum. Probationary period extensions are granted by a case by case basis.

Membership Options

  A Wahington County Life Saving Crew memebr possess valid state of Virginia EMT-B, EMT-E, EMT-I or EMT-P certification and a CPR certification. Members are choose to be volunteer or part time employee status and are required to completed the 24 hours of time each month. As a Senior member, you have voting rights, and are required to attend and participate in the monthly business and training meetings.
